Reiner Gramlich, painter and sculptor, lives and works in Germany and France. Trained as an abstract expressionist, he has a never-ending ability to reinvent and explore the simplest of ideas. Gramlich's talent for working like this keeps his work alive for the viewer. He has been working for the past twenty years on collaborative paintings with Eckhard Zylla, and has been a part of the collaborative Sixhand painting group since December 2000. Sixhand painting, which consists of Gramlich, Zylla, and American Michael Manning, meets several times each year and works and exhibits in Germany, Italy, and the USA. Gramlich's abstract creativity has been one of the driving factors in the Sixhand's ability to work together.
